Every breath you take, every move you make
"I woke up in the middle of the night with that line in my head, sat down at the piano and wrote in it in half an hour. It sounds like a comforting love song. I didn't realize at the time how sinister it is. I think I was thinking of Big Brother watching you. " Sting

Nouns can be countable or uncountable. Is this new noun I'm learning countable or uncountable? This is a questions you should ask yourself when you learn a new noun in English?
Countable Nouns, people, animals, objects, plants, units of measurement, can becounted, used with the indefinite article (a / an) and the plural. That's the point, count nouns can take the plural form.
- ex: a dog
- ex: two dogs
Uncount
able Nouns, substances, materials, abstracts ideas, languages, cannot be counted, and are never used with the indefinite article or in the plural. They are always singular.
-ex: water
How do you count uncountable nouns? You can't, but you can measure them. You have to use ‘counters’
You can put something into a container to count it, but the thing you're counting doesn't take the plural form. The container takes the plural form:
all over the world, Labor Day, which reminds workers executed in the USAin 1887 after claims of labor claims.
In Argentina, Labor Day is celebrated since the late nineteenth century. At present, Labor Day is commemorated with the implementation of various events and demonstrations, which, beyond any ideological root, remember to allow those who fought throughout history for workers' rights.
Fortunately, The Beatles "found" a way to relax after a hard day's work....
DO YOU WORK HARD? WHAT DO YOU DO? ARE YOU A DRONE, A QUEEN BEE OR A TEACHER?
Why not Labor's Day ?
Question
:
Recently I was asked why we say " Mother's Day" but " Labor Day" ( not "Labor's Day"). Why not " Laborers' day"? After all, we labor so hard, we actually "laborers".
We have also "Father's Day" but " Christmas Day" ( not Christmas's day )
"Mother" and "father' are people and the days chosen to honor them are called their days. So the possessive forms of "mother and "father" respectively are used to name their days, i.e.. "Mother's Day" and Father's Day".
"Labor Day" is a day that has been chosen to honor all working people. "Labor" refers to the work done as well as the workers collectively. we don't normally use an apostrophe 's' after the word "labor" to indicate possession. Thus "Labor Day" is used.
"Laborer's Day" does not sound so neat.
As for " Christmas", the word means " the mass or festival of Christ". "Christmas" is not a person, so we can't put an apostrophe 's' after it. "Christmas Day' means "the day of the festival of Christ".
